Intensive Russian Assaults Cut Electricity Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to water supplies, as stated by municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Moscow has intensified strikes on power infrastructure over the past few days, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in supplying protection systems and applying restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A series of attacks hit energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by municipal representatives.
