Alarming Video Reveals Point Law Enforcement Are Stabbed in Surprise Attack

Both Sergeants Moments Before the Assailant Received Electric Shock

A police sergeant who rushed to the aid of a colleague that was assaulted by a knife attacker received the King's Commendation for Valor.

Sgt Tim Ansell struggled against twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown subsequent to he pressed a knife to the neck of his colleague Sergeant Marc Foster.

Brown began the violence as the law enforcement personnel and their third officer, Police Constable Marcus Wolstencroft, were speaking to a driver subsequent to a road collision in the area in summer 2023.

Brown attacked with blade both Sgt Ansell and Sergeant Foster before Police Constable Wolstencroft stopped him with a stun gun.

"Officer attacked," the constable was heard to say over his radio.

Officer-mounted and dashcam footage shared by the force depicted Brown, wearing in black with a hood up, run up to Sergeant Foster from the rear with a weapon pointed forward.

He struck the policeman who tripped and dropped to the street, before Sgt Ansell intervened and struggled to restrain him to the ground although being continually attacked with the blade.

Police Constable Wolstencroft pulled his stun gun and sought a clear shot, bringing the struggle to an conclusion.

Sgt Ansell was heard stating: "Please provide help on my neck here, I'm bleeding in the neck."

Sgt Ansell suffered two lacerations to his neck and further wounds to his limbs and body, while Sergeant Foster received slash wounds.

The department stated Sergeant Foster used his bare hands to control his partner's blood loss prior to medical personnel arrived.

This most recent honor comes after the law enforcement team received internal Valor Recognitions in late 2023 and the John Egerton Bravery Award from the area officer association in April 2024.

They additionally received a North West Courage Honor in mid-2024.

"The actions of all three officers eventually protected each other and resulted in no members of the public experienced any wounds."

Brown was sentenced to an psychiatric detention in spring 2024, as stated by the department.
